Dinefwr Castle

Overlooking the Towy valley from a rocky outcrop. Dinefwr Castle can be reached by walking through the beautiful grounds of Newton house. It was the stronghold of the princes of Deheubarth, and in the twelfth century was held by Lord Rhys, the most powerfull of the welsh princes at that time.
