The Welsh name for Tenby is Dinbych-y-Pysgod, which means "little fortress of the fish". This aptly describes the small seaside resort, with its harbour and medieval fortifications. It was very popular in the nineteenth century as a resort, many famous names have visited here, including Lord Nelson and Lady Hamilton. There are miles of sandy beaches, and boats taking visitors across to Caldey island.
